“This one will go at the top of my list for spring events next year. It was really well run, well organized and I can definitely recommend it as an event to check out if you are interested in some multi-discipline events.”

STEVE H.

“I would highly recommend this race, it’s small but very fun, unique, and beautiful. A great way to kick off the summer season.”

KAITLYN O.

“Best marked route I have seen. It was a great event – had a wonderful time and am planning to be back next year.”

Matt S.

RACE ROUTES

Bike Route

The bike course is 19 miles and includes pavement, some washouts and gravel with slight elevation changes. The bike starts at the flag pole at Memory Lake Park, travels through Crex Meadows (passing by Phantom Lake once) and finishes at Phantom Lake landing where racers transition to paddle

Paddle Route

The paddle is around 1.5 – 2 miles and is a full loop. Large yellow buoys mark the course, and we have patrol boats in the water. Volunteers have your kayak ready for you at the landing when you arrive (we radio ahead your bib number which matches your kayak) and help you in and out of the water.

Run Route

The run is 8 miles and includes about 2 miles of pavement, half mile of gravel, 1.5 miles of sand and 4 miles of cross country trails with a few hills. The run starts at Phantom Lake in Crex Meadows at the paddle transition and finished in Memory Lake Park.

Fat Tire Route

The fat tire route will begin at the same starting line as everyone else, by the flagpole at Memory Lake Park. Racers will start off on the same 4 mile run route marked within the trails at Memory Lake Park. Upon exiting the wooded area, and approaching the bridge at the park, racers will then travel the first 4 miles of the regular bike route and finish at Phantom Lake. This is an 8 mile bike route vs the 19 full triathlon bike route. From there, the paddle and run routes are the same as the regular route.

Paddle Route

The paddle is around 2 miles and is a full loop.

Shorter Run Route

The 4-mile run can be chosen vs. the 8 mile run in the full (regular) triathlon or fat tire triathlon races. The run starts at Phantom Lake after the paddle and ends at the finish line on the bridge at Memory Lake Park. The difference in the route between the 8 mile and 4 mile options are that the 4 mile racers will NOT enter the trails (woods) at Memory Lake Park.

For the bike and paddle route maps, choose the options above for Regular or Fat Tire routes.

Trail Run Route

The Trail Run begins at the flag pole at Memory Lake Park. Racers will enter the woods and run 4 miles of cross country trails with a few hills. Racers exit the trails and finish on the bridge at Memory Lake Park. (Same start and finish lines as Triathlon racers)

Start at Memory Lake Park and follow North Park Street north until you hit gravel. Make a looping u-turn back down Park to Industrial Ave. Take a left on Borg Road and follow Borg as it turns into North Russell St. Follow the curve to the left onto W Jackson Ave. At the T intersection, take a right back to Memory Lake Park where you will exit the bike and enter the kayak portion of this race.

After kayaking approximately 1/2 mile, racers will head off into the trails at Memory Lake Park for a 1 mile run. Signs and volunteers will be there to guide the way.
